Not to be confused with the inimitable film icon, Betty Blue, Amanda’s film work does nonetheless consist of stories that are both comic and tragic in equal measure.

As one of the UK’s leading observational documentary directors she’s unearthed both the humanity and hilarity in people as diverse as John Prescott and Daisy Donovan and has evocatively explored race, class, childhood and even death in her award winning body of work.

Amanda combines beautifully composed and thought provoking photography, great story telling and characters that you hardly believe to be real. So I guess she is our Betty Blue after-all.
